Accounts Payable Coordinator Job Opening in New York, New york - Pace Gallery is seeking an experienced and personable full-time Accounts Payable Coordinator for immediate hire to join our team. This multifaceted and collaborative role reports to our Accounting Manager and is responsible for the accounts payable and travel expense functions, including vendor and settlement payments.
The ideal applicant takes pride in their work, is passionate about what they do and enjoys working with others. The position is based out of our New York Midtown offices with a Monday through Friday schedule, with flexibility as needed, for special projects.
**Please note that preference will be given to applicants with Great Plains software experience and those that are available for immediate hire**
Key Responsibilities
Thoroughly review, code and post all incoming invoices to the general ledger.
Ensure accuracy and timely payment of posted invoices.
Work with vendors and internal personnel to reconcile discrepancies.
Process and distribute all checks, ACHs and wires.
Communicate with bank, as necessary, to resolve any payment issues.
Assist in quarterly review and year-end audit of vendor invoices.
Actively participate in the month-end closing process, record journal entries, prepare account analyses, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
Review and verify employee travel expense reports and release them for reimbursement.
Track, reconcile and allocate expense reports from credit card spending, and obtain and review supporting documentation.
Assist Accounting Manager in preparation of weekly payables and coordination of cash management.
Maintain accurate aged accounts receivable schedules.
Set up and prepare 1099 tax forms for vendors.
Assist with special projects as assigned.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
2-4 years? experience in an accounts payable or accounting role.
Proficiency using Great Plains software and Microsoft Office is required.
Display team player attitude and foster working relationships with all levels of management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Extremely organized, detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
