SUMMARY:
The GSE Sales Manager is responsible for developing new sales opportunities, both through the existing network of customer accounts or by proactively developing new relationships. The GSE Sales Manager assists customers in finding what they want, creates solutions and ensures a smooth sales process. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This individual has gained full proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the job and independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from the supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Increase brand market share through sales calls and providing product demonstrations with customers in the field.
Develop a customer call plan that is course-specific for visits to targeted accounts.
Maintain records of all quotes and outcome of customer purchases (whether Harlan Global Mfg. or not).
Quote products and prices under existing company guidelines.
Develop and implement plans and strategies to cultivate new business opportunities.
Meet or exceed assigned sales objectives on a quarterly, semiannual, and annual basis.
Take the lead to organize on-site product training for customers.
Demonstrate strong product application knowledge and can communicate this knowledge to different levels of buyers and customers.
Represent Harlan Global Manufacturing at trade shows, bid openings, and conferences as needed.
Educate customers about Harlan Global Manufacturing products. This includes the features and benefits that make HGM superior to the competition (requires knowledge of competitors' products and product features).
Provide expense reports, mileage reports, sales prospects, conquests and losses, and other required records and reports to Sales Manager as scheduled.
Coordinate customer delivery, service, and administrative needs with COO and/or Production Supervisor as necessary to ensure superior customer service.
Submit weekly reports regarding customer visits, customer comments and sales activities as required.
Provide input to the management team on development of new product or service features that will meet current and future customer needs.
Collaborate with internal departments in the development and implementation of strategies, plans, and business models.
Relay information to appropriate Company personnel concerning possible field product problems.
Perform all duties in accordance with the Harlan Business Conduct Guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and travel to customer sites (auto and airplane). EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus 5 or more years of verifiable GSE sales experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Requires good critical thinking and interpersonal skills
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have a professional, outgoing, guest-service oriented manner.
Developed business acumen
Knowledge of ERP software
Must be detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines.
A proven track record of success that includes creative problem-solving and business partner experience is desired.
Ability to interact with a variety of people, and remain professional in stressful situations.
Able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
