The Oil and Gas Accountant will be responsible for coordinating, directing, and executing the accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, smart-data design and reporting, and tax filing preparation for the company.

Essential functions may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. Assume responsibility for QuickBooks and establish internal control over the company?s accounting and financial procedures
Prepare financial statements and meet regularly with management to review P&L, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial statements
Prepare annual work papers to be submitted to accountants for completion of tax returns, 1099s
File local and state informational returns/forms as needs
License renewal preparation and filings
Develop and implement data collection and reporting processes and procedures
Develop knowledge of the contractual and operational environment in assigned area
Ensure that all accounts payable and revenues are entered correctly
Manage accounts payable aging and correspond with vendors for timely collections
Assist with insurance renewals
Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential
Additional special projects assigned by ownership
Requirements:
Education
Desired: Bachelor?s and/or Master?s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting
Desired: Certified Public Accountant certification
Experience
Proven track record of excellence in oil and gas accounting and pro-active team participation
Competencies, Skills, and Knowledge
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
Working knowledge of accounting principles and internal control
Must be able to meet deadlines and work effectively with others
Ability to complete routine tasks with limited supervision and take ownership for results including strong follow up
Ability to collaborate practices and procedures in an effective manner
Good oral and written communication skills
