Software Engineer III Job Opening in Mason, Ohio - Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX) is seeking a Software Engineer III to work with on-site with the team based in Mason, Ohio.
The Software Engineer III will be assigned to a Java Web Development team that develops and maintains a highly utilized software as a service (SaaS) web-based healthcare solution with 800K users and with data growth of 1.5 terabytes per month.
The Software Engineer III is responsible for analysis, design, coding and testing of new applications or enhancements to existing applications using Java-based technologies, including Java, J2EE, JSP, XML, JDBC, and Servlets. This professional must be able to apply SDLC concepts and should have a proven track record of delivering solid, robust applications.
To qualify, the ideal candidate will have the following background and skills:
7+ years of prior Java development experience required
Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming
Strong communication skills are required as position will interact with business owners
Self-starter with proven ability to take ownership and responsibility of assignments
Experience working on SCRUM teams
Proactive problem solver
Excellent communication skills
Front end Web UI experience: Tapestry is a plus; GWT experience preferred not required, but a key factor in candidate consideration
Backend Experience: EJB; Hibernate, and both SOAP and REST services
