In this role you will work with new and existing customers, actively recruiting new customers and building long term customer relationships. You will work with a broad range of primarily used construction and industrial equipment, selling our remarketing, auction, eCommerce and consignment services. You will work with companies in various industries, including construction, manufacturing, machinery and equipment sales and rental, mining, transportation, utilities, government, etc.
Responsibilities include:
Have a comprehensive knowledge of new and used heavy equipment sales in the areas of construction, transportation, material handling, manufacturing, etc.
Consult with customers on the valuation and sales estimates of machinery and equipment.
Drive revenue through fees associated with our professional auction and consignment services ? without sacrificing integrity
Develop a strategy and plan to effectively develop and manage your assigned customers and territories
Research and answer questions about equipment in support of our online auctions and remarketing activities
Assist with post-sale activities in support of creating the best online heavy equipment buying experience in the world
Post-sale activities may also include managing defaults, payments, cross-sale activities, relistings, logistics process, customer support, etc
Participate in production of online auctions, including equipment inspections, operations, photography, inventory management and customer interaction
Establish strong, honest, long-term relationships with customers
Background and Qualifications include:
Background in the areas which would be helpful include: new and used heavy equipment sales, equipment rental, machinery and equipment distributor, business valuation and appraisal consulting, equipment financing and equipment lease, business surplus, consignment services and auctions, etc.
At least 3 years of proven sales experience in inside sales and/or customer service role
Great phone presence and skills
Good construction, heavy equipment and truck knowledge
Proven revenue attainment record through proactive lead generation and consultative selling techniques ? without scarifying integrity
Have excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Good analytical, problem solving and research skills
Proficiency in computer skills and applications
Familiarity and experience with internet technologies and sales as well as spreadsheets and research tools
Experience with buying and/or selling over the internet would be beneficial
Be an advocate for the company and our customers, and greatly enjoy selling
Self motivated with skills and attitude to excel in a start-up / entrepreneurial environment
