General Manager Expectations Include:
Responsible for a well established, high-volume property, with banquet space, and F&B outlet along with a bar that serve not only hotel guests but are marketed as free-standing restaurant with local market desirability.
Fiscal responsibility for all facets of the property including budget creation and management
Lead staff of about 100 team members to produce an outstanding guest experience and create an employer of choice work environment.
Be highly creative in establishing and maintaining programs to market the hotel, and improve guest experience
Fully utilize all resources available to achieve marketing and sales objectives
Newly remodeled hotel property will require continued evaluation as needs arise
General Manager will create a foundation where the hotel leads the market rather than reacts
Successful Candiates:
The ideal General Manager candidate will have five (5) or more years of hospitality experience. This experience should be broad and include multiple hotel disciplines, one of which must be Food and Beverage.
This is not a position for a first time General Manager or a General Manager from a limited service hotel property. The candidate must possess a proven management history to include all aspects of hotel management. We prefer an individual who has been a General Manager in a larger full service hotel with a complex F&B operation that includes a destination restaurant/bar.
The candidate needs to be actively engaged in civic, charitable and fraternal organizations in the community
The individual should have the ability and to create a favorable impression across media and at social gatherings.
The ideal candidate will be strong on fundamentals while bringing creative new ideas.
A thorough understanding of the principles of operating a business including sales and marketing, operations, human resources and accounting.
