Health Analytics Coordinator Job Opening in Albany, New york - Alliance for Better Health is funded by the New York State Department of Health to improve the health of thousands of Capital Region residents. We are working toward increased access to health care and improved overall health of the communities we serve. At the forefront of evolving health transformation programs both locally and nationally, we are creating and deploying leading-edge technology for analytics, population health, care coordination, and provider / patient empowerment. Our team is developing and implementing innovative new models to support clinical delivery transformation.
To support these strategies, we are hiring a Health Analytics Coordinator to serve as an analytics leader. The ideal candidate will have experience in government health programs and health informatics and will report to the Director of Health Informatics.
This position will be responsible for coordination of departmental efforts needed to support Alliance initiatives for the NYS Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program. This position will be required to work closely with project leads, the IT project manager, product development and the program management office (PMO) as well as with partner organizations and community based organizations.
This position requires strong management and communication skills, incredible positive attitude as well as problem-solving skills and the ability to participate effectively in strategic decisions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with the PMO project managers/product development to provide reporting and analytics.
Coordinate analytic resources to successfully aggregate and analyze and generate insightful reports.
Participate in planning, definition of goals and objectives to support the development of a successful data and analytic strategy
Oversee data submission processes and ensure analytics team has accurately prepared the data for submission, resolving errors and documenting confirmations.
Leverage advanced statistical analysis methods to create insightful recommendations and conclusions.
Establishes and maintains procedures and guidelines to ensure continuous improvement QA processes.
Identify and address expected and unforeseen data complexities to mitigate their impact on the analytic outcome and associated business decisions.
Work as liaison/analyst for internal and external stakeholders and vendors, understand their needs and translate them into reporting and analytic solutions to support ad hoc reporting and product development.
Performs or manages analysis of integrated healthcare data, interprets results, and makes recommendations based on analytic findings to business areas.
Coordinates team projects and priorities and assists with the development of the department.
Responsible for leading and performing activities related to database development, data review and maintenance of specific data management documentation.
Ability to prepare narrative reports, comparative analyses and draft correspondence to effectively communicate to internal and external stakeholders and communicate to non-technical audiences.

Education and Experience:
Preferred:
Bachelor?s degree in computer science, statistics, public administration, finance, or a related field
Population health experience
NYS Medicaid experience
Able to present data to key decision makers and clients
Familiarity with Salient and use of the Medicaid Data Warehouse
Leadership, management ability and supervisory or managerial experience
Required:
Health industry analytic experience
Project management and/or team lead experience
Strong Business Analyst skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Understanding of relational databases
Experience with data collection, merging data and analysis of data sets
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, and Power point

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to perform complex analysis and make recommendations
based on statistical inferences
Demonstrated ability to articulate goals, plan and implement processes to achieve those goals, recognize and assess the implications of confounding variables, and meet deadlines
Advanced interpersonal (e.g., mediating, mentoring, teaching) skills required to service internal and external clients effectively.
Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work independently, and to exercise independent judgment in developing complex techniques or programs in a dynamic environment.
