Application Analyst Job Opening in sacramento, California - Application Analyst Meridian Systems, a leading provider of enterprise technology solutions for optimizing real estate, construction and other infrastructure programs, is seeking an Application Analyst who will provide advanced (2nd & 3rd tier) technical support and hosting administration services for Meridian products and services. The application analyst performs research and works with product development in creation of issues for defects, enhancement requests, hotfixes, and service requests to professional services. The application analyst performs product troubleshooting and works with engineering and others driving the resolution to identified issues through workarounds or fixes in the affected product. They perform release product readiness acceptance testing, and author and publish knowledge base articles and Technical bulletins for use both internally and externally. As Hosting Administrators, they create and maintain Meridian Hosted user accounts and maintenance of all active user data. They also maintain and develop training materials used for internal and external staff. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: � Serve as the internal customer advocate, working with product management, Tier2/3 support analysts, engineering leads and others as needed to prioritize customer issues being addressed in future service updates � Actively participate in product development meetings, including specification reviews, project reviews, and others as needed � Develop, maintain, and share advanced technical and functional knowledge on all supported products and solutions. � Provide prompt and accurate solutions, workarounds, advice, and recommendations when providing 3rd tier support to the Support Services staff and Meridian customers � Perform verification and escalation process for R&D and environment issues. � Provide After Hours Support as required � Identify product deployment needs and participate in support sign off for all of external releases. � Perform necessary testing and troubleshooting and document findings and best practices � Develop and provide internal product training, including but not limited to structured group/individual training, in prompt to training, or training other departments or partners. � Create new product documentation or suggest changes to existing product documentation for internal and external use, including but not limited to knowledge base articles, technical bulletins, and FAQs QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE: � BA/BS degree, or equivalent work experience � 3-4 years experience in a software-based technical support role. KNOWLEDGE: Has advanced troubleshooting capabilities in the following areas: � Meridian family of software and hosted internet solutions. Proliance experience preferred. � Relational database architecture and concepts (SQL Server, Oracle) � Networking (client, server, enterprise) � Operating Systems and Technologies (Windows, , XML, Internet IIS, ASPs, Browsers) � Messaging Technologies (MAPI, POS3/SMTP, HTTP) � Citrix/Terminal Server SKILLS & ABILITIES: � Must have the ability to describe technical concepts and present them to technical and non-technical persons in a clear and concise manner, in both in oral and written forms. � Must have the ability to quickly learn new concepts quickly � Must demonstrate superior customer service skills and exercise discretion and good judgment in all interactions � Demonstrate leadership and mentoring abilities to other services team members � Takes initiative and demonstrates a strong degree of product ownership � Able to effectively interact with persons at most levels of the organization � Ability to maintain customer centered focus when interacting with product management and development � Ability to work independently with minimal supervision � Demonstrated ability to understand and follow both written and oral instructions � Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively and professionally with the most demanding customer � Works well in a team environment � Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple tasks and priorities � Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of customer and company information Meridian Systems provides enterprise solutions that optimize the plan, build and operate phases of real estate, construction and other physical infrastructure initiatives.
