Wright Construction Company is a concrete and asphalt contractor with a strongtrack record of over 25 years and we are looking to add to our growing team in the capacity of Manager in the Birmingham area. The Manager is responsible for all facets of construction projects from identifying customers and potential projects, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, take-off, change order processing and management, and ensuring the successful completion of the project with an emphasis on profitability, client satisfaction and safety. Qualifying candidate should be experienced and have a network in the central Alabama area. Qualifying candidate is a self-starter that can win friends and is hungry, coachable, and a team player.
Essential Responsibilities:
Price new work, utilizing multiple, redundant methods
Takeoff quantities accurately
Prioritize estimating based on client importance, competition, bid deadlines, likelihood of success, type of work
Responsible for developing new relationships with clients and creating a network to generate new clients while also maintaining existing client relationships
Generate new avenues of revenue
Schedule/Lead handoff meeting with assigned project manager
Assist with project scheduling
Maintain pre-bid documentation
Perform contract reviews to ensure correct scope
Create project schedules
Crew assignment
Job Buyout
Generate/Track Submittals
Coordinate with WCC General
Interact with client PMs and Superintendent
Timely pricing of Change orders
Maintain client schedule
Track job costs
Track Crew Productivity
Track material yields
Maintain strict contract document control
Maintain relationships with GCs and repeat clients
Monthly Billings
Accurate Invoice Coding
Qualifications:
Ability to identify target customers and markets to initiate the sale
Construction Management or Concrete materials degree a plus
Leadership skills
5 years field construction or construction supplies experience a plus
Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite (specifically Excel), Planswift, FTP downloading, Dropbox, etc.
Ability to multitask
Ability to develop trust and relationships with customers and other employees
Strong organizational skills
Math, Algebra, geometry skills
Plan reading and interpretation
Ability to effectively communicate with customers and coworkers, both written and oral.
Ability to meet deadlines
Respond to customer telephone, fax and email in an expeditious and courteous manner.
Ability to work independently
