Payroll Specialist Job Opening in Portland, Oregon - Responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing for domestic and international employees. Works with employees to resolve questions or issues that arise. Supports the month end close process. Supports the accounting team. Provides support for audits and reviews.
Processes payroll, both domestic and international, in a timely manner. Ensures payroll is complete and accurate. Ensures payments to employees are made timely. Implements and manages all payroll related interfaces including those with the general ledger, ADP, benefits, retirement savings, etc. Prepares timely and accurate payroll reports for management. Maintains employee master files. Researches issues and questions that arise.
Knowledgeable of both domestic and international payroll laws and regulations and ensures we are in compliance.
Supports the month end close process, prepares assigned entries, reconciles assigned accounts, runs financial schedules, prepares variance analysis and follows up/researches questions as needed.
Provides support to the accounting team as needed.
Coordinates the year-end process of preparing W-2?s. Stays current on state and federal reporting requirements and ensures compliance.
Provides support for audits and reviews.
Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures including updating payroll documentation.
Identifies and works on process improvements including implementing changes .
Other duties as assigned.
Associate degree in accounting or related field, Bachelor?s degree a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience in a company with 100+ employees.
International payroll experience a plus.
Minimum of 4 years? experience working with ADP for payroll processing.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness.
Self-motivated, flexible and able to handle multiple priorities.
Must possess strong problem resolution and reconciliation skills.
Experience with corporate financial software packages is needed. Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Word required.
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Ability to work independently or as a team.
