Data Administrator Job Opening in seattle, Washington - Data Administrator Establishes the data administration function, including designing data models, data definitions, and reporting services. Review and update policies governing administrative data systems. Participates in and oversees data integration strategy, including planning, development and implementation. Identifies common data and associated relationships, resolves data definition and ownership issues, and ensures data integrity. Coordinates process to develop data standards policy to improve data accuracy, integration, access and integrity. Provides technical support, analysis & solutions to staff, faculty & students (end users) using the University's databases, report development tools, and front-end software. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Collaborate with MIS team in the maintenance of settings and processes in the university?s student information systems and enterprise systems. Develop SQL Reporting Service reports and oversee the functioning of the university report server. Assist end users in all aspects of reporting, including development of reports using SunGardHE PowerCAMPUS reporting tools, SSIS solutions, and SQL Reporting Services. Monitor report delivery and security. Facilitate Data Standards Workgroup. Implement data standards to improve the quality of data within university databases. Take an educational role in training staff on data standards and quality assurance reporting. Actively participate in the Institutional Research Team. Document and diagram business processes and solutions. Develop and maintain up-to-date documentation in the university's knowledgebase. Communicate with and participate in technology planning with other university staff. Analyze needs, propose and develop solutions. Provide written and verbal training to staff and faculty to facilitate use of enterprise database systems and communicate data standards. As a member of the MIS staff, assists in planning and setting policies and procedures for the department. Facilitate and participate in the testing/debugging of system upgrades and new functionality. Diagnose and resolve problems occurring in multiple software and database platforms. Oversee the work assigned to work-study students and temporary workers. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related subject from an accredited college or university ? Advanced skills and proficiency with Microsoft SQL 2008 and Microsoft SQL Reporting Services ? Working knowledge of the structural design of relational databases and related software ? Advanced skill and proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office ? Intermediate skill and proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio ? Successfully pass a criminal background check. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ? Experience administering SunGardHE PowerCAMPUS ? Experience administering SunGardHE Self-Service ? Experience administering SunGardHE PowerFAIDS ?
