Outside Industrial Sales Representative Job Opening in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Philadelphia Ball and Roller Bearing Company is an independently owned industrial distributor of bearings and power transmission products founded in 1938 to support the local communities. We have four stocking locations servicing Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland for over 75 years.
Industries we serve include: Steel, Petro Chemical, Food Processing, Packaging and Manufacturing, Printing and Paper Conversion, Railroad, Aggregates, HVAC Repair, Elevator and Escalator Repair, Electric Motor/Pump Repair, Energy Production/Wind Power, etc.
We are currently looking to fill outside sales positions in our Reading, PA and Wilmington, DE locations.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in Industrial Sales (knowledge of bearings and PT products is a plus)
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
Major Responsibilities:
- Outside sales calls covering Philadelphia, Delaware, South Jersey and Northern Maryland.
- Provide account maintenance of existing customer base. (MRO)
- Joint customer calls with manufacturer's reps.
- Gather technical information (dimensions/part numbers) from customers in the field to assist
in the generation of quotations.
- Respond to customer's request for technical assistance in product needs.
- Development of new customers through cold calling and networking.
- Working/assisting in the branch office with quote preparation, answering phones and working
sales counter when employees are absent/on vacation.
- Responsible for outside sales of bearings, oil seals, electric motors, gear boxes, couplings,
roller chain and sprockets, pulleys, v-belts, timing belts and many other industrial products
offered by the manufacturers we represent. (Over 400 industrial product lines)
- Develop strategies to support profitable growth of product lines in the territory.
- Assist customers with inventory control and establishment of stocking programs.
- Main responsibility is to establish relationships with key account contacts, generating more
business and keeping the telephones ringing.
- Dress Code: Professional/casual (Khakis and collared shirt). Site access for certain accounts
will require compliance with safety regulations (wearing of safety boots, vest, hard hat,
safety glasses, etc.)
Compensation:
- Salary commensurate with experience ($40 - 70 K annually)
