A biomedical startup investor company is seeking a Grant Writer to manage and plan the preparation and development of grants and written materials for the purposes of biomedical project funding. Grant writer would work under the general direction of the main investors as the resource expert in written publications and communications
About Position: Under the supervision of the CEO of the Company, solicit grant funding from Federal, State, County, City, , including: researching and writing ; working collaboratively with Company Directors to conceptualize, formulate and respond effectively to funding sources. Also responsible for tasks that are integral to Marketing, Public Relations, and Communications including assistance with development of marketing strategies and campaigns, use of social media, internal and external communications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Research, comprehension and writing of Federal, State and County Organizations, Foundations and Corporations, including researching possible new sources of funding.
Work with program staff, finance, and other corporate departments to conceptualize responses and then write feedback effectively into grant / proposal
Maintain and update donor and prospect database, updating record information.
Develop and submit appropriate letters of inquiry, grant applications and proposals.
Assist with organizing conferences and special events.
Send out acknowledgement letters; track timing of grant and compliance reports; maintain correspondence and database records for all corporations and foundations.
Research and compile information as requested on funding announcement criteria
Assist with capturing the cultivation and solicitation strategies that are targeted for foundations and corporations.
Assist in the development and maintenance of internal communications that promote a positive corporate culture and staff appreciation.
Attend all required trainings and events and complete required E-learning coursework by due dates.
Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:
Experience responding to funding requests within the healthcare / biomedical arena. Proven success in writing for medical and/or science grants funding
Excellent review, integration, comprehension and writing skills with demonstrated experience in grant writing, particularly RFPs. Excellent verbal skills. Intermediate Microsoft Word including mail merge, use of tables, charts and graphs, formatting and Excel spreadsheet skills.
Ability to develop and maintain efficient and effective systems and processes to manage details. Ability to interact positively with a wide range of individuals. Attention to detail and ability to handle several projects at one time and meet deadlines.
Must be able to communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to communicate verbally by phone in English in a clear and concise manner.
Demonstrated ability to lead and apply ingenuity and creativity in solving complex problems.
Education: B.A. degree in English, Marketing, Journalism, or related Health field required. Master?s degree preferred.
