Accounting Associate Job Opening in Lexington, Kentucky - Summit Biosciences Inc. is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on developing, manufacturing and commercializing generic and innovative nasal spray drug products.
We provide contract development and manufacturing services to our partners and to our clients for a wide variety of nasally delivered drug products and delivery systems. Our operations are compliant with FDA current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), DEA regulations and are capable of supporting any stage of product development, from conceptual to commercial.
Our manufacturing plant, laboratories and headquarters are located on the University of Kentucky's Coldstream Research Campus in the heart of the Bluegrass Region and the horse capital of the world, Lexington, KY.
We are currently seeking a part-time Accounting Associate to provide a wide variety of administrative support for the accounting resources department. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, detail-orientated, organized, dependable, helpful, flexible and willing to perform a variety of detailed tasks.
Essential Duties:
Accounting
Compile, maintain and process accounts payable records
Assist in ordering materials and supplies
Assist Accounting with preparing invoice packages containing draft invoices for all billable projects including all applicable backup
Prepare invoices and invoice supporting reports and documentation
Scan invoices into the system
Create and maintain purchase orders
Assist in processing of accounts payable transactions including vendor invoices and credit card charges
Enter items into Quickbooks, ADP, and other financial systems to prepare for payment to the appropriate vendor
Critically review all accounts payable items for accuracy and validity.
Process accounts payable accurately and in a timely manner
Code checks using the appropriate level of detail to provide the infrastructure for a cost accounting system
Enter credit card payments
Filing for Accounting
Any other tasks as assigned
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
The individual must have "hands-on" experience in an enterprise "start-up" corporate environment. Specific qualifications desired include:

Ability to enter large amounts of data with a high level of accuracy

Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, ADP and enterprise accounting software
Diligent work ethic and commitment to complete duties on schedule
A desire to grow personally and professionally in the accounting and human resources field while working in a team environment and being flexible to help where needed
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent, plus additional or specialized training in Accounting
Associates degree in Accounting, Finance or Business is preferred
A minimum of three (3) years recent experience in Accounting
