Web Applications Developer Job Opening in East Brunswick, New jersey - Summary : Under general direction, uses programming languages and source code to create, improve and maintain software that meets user requirements. May work with multiple programming languages and operating systems.
Responsibilities :
Supports organizational technical environment by performing programming for internal and external use, including websites, workflow processes, and trademarked proprietary software.
Contribute to the development of new business systems in all stages.
Contribute to the re-engineering of legacy business systems.
Create documentation as development occurs.
Create unit tests as development occurs.
Aid in the creation of training materials based on the systems developed.
Maintain legacy business systems not slated for re-engineering.
Aid with system testing, troubleshooting and debugging to improve applications.

Education, Skills, and Experience Required :
Experience with LAMP development. PHP in particular.
Experience with AJAX. Strong Javascript skills in general.
Experience with UML.
Strong SQL skills.
Experience with distributed version control.
Experience with unit testing.
Understanding of object-oriented design and ORM.
Understanding of the importance of proper documentation.
Comfortable working in a fast paced iterative development environment with hard deadlines.
Personable and able to work closely with many different levels of stakeholders.
BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
2-5 Years of Programming Experience, preferably in a Financial Firm
Display a passion and enthusiasm for programming at a high level
Possess the ability to train less experienced programmers
The willingness to learn new programming techniques and languages
Additional Skills Desired:
Linux server administration.
Linux scripting experience with Bash and Perl.
MySQL administration
