Payroll Accountant Job Opening in Brookpark, Ohio - Manufacturing company located in Cleveland, Ohio is looking to add a Payroll Accountant to their team.
Computes and records earnings from , subtracting deductions such as income tax withholding, social security payments, insurance, garnishments, and child support.
Ensures that payments are made in accordance with vendor and supplier time limits.
Enters net wages into system, payroll sheet, check stub, and check.
Tracks non-taxable wages, paid time off, and leaves of absence.
Prepares and distributes paychecks.
Reconciles payroll sub-ledger to general ledger.
Remits payroll taxes and government reporting.
Prepares monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll statements.
Completes employment verifications.
Responds to inquiries from employees and vendors.
Understands and practices company polices and core values.
May track goods purchased by employees, units or departments.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Completion of some Accounting coursework at the college level.
Minimum two years of experience in a similar position
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications, accounting and payroll systems and use of intranet and internet. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
Strong knowledge and understanding accounting principles.
Developed analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong customer service orientation.
Ability to understand and communicate data within financial reports.
Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills
