Cost Accountant Job Opening in Bentleyville, Pennsylvania - POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for a variety of cost accounting functions which may include month-end journal entries, closings, standard cost development, variance analyses, inventory levels and inventory reserves.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Reports/Analysis : Develops and reports plant performance through performance reporting, absorption models and cost analysis.
· Costs : Develops and reconciles annual costs, using full absorption costing method.
· Variances : Analyzes & communicates the causes of significant variances from standards cost. Follows up on corrective actions. Follows up on variance information provided to operating personnel in order to understand corrective actions taken.
· Analyzes : Identifies process weaknesses (from a control or efficiency standpoint) and develops recommendations for improvement. Performs ad hoc analyses and work with operating personnel to identify product cost issues and opportunities.
· Inventory : Coordinates the annual physical inventory process from the financial perspective; responsible for leading the reconciliation process.
· Budgets : Develops and analyzes budgets, forecasts, and variance reports for inventory, inventory reserves, and labor/material variances.
· Other responsibilities as assigned or required .
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Required:
5+ years experience in accounting in a manufacturing organization; 2+ years in cost accounting. Good communication skills, excellent detail orientation necessary; strong analytical abilities.
Experience in the full absorption costing method is preferred.
Education/Training Required:
Bachelor?s degree in accounting; SAP experience; proficiency in Microsoft applications.
