DB2 DBA /Linux Job Opening in Woodstock, Georgia - Job Summary
Provide DBA support for the Clients SaaS DB2 database platform running on Linux focused on reliability, security, recoverability, and performance.
Responsibilities
? Provide 3rd level DB2 support for a diverse SaaS platform
? Optimize performance while minimizing expense on AWS and Azure
? Oversee patching and upgrades without impacting production
? Work cooperatively with 1st and 2nd level support teams
? Assist by creating runbooks for typical DB maintenance
? Provide extended availability for emergency issue that may arise out of business hours, respond to pages and calls that may be automated when critical systems require support
? Work with software engineering teams to provide the infrastructure that best suites the SaaS products that the client provides
? Work with security engineering to assure that the DB2 environment is secure and provides the necessary auditing to monitor security
? Support and enhance monitoring tools to provide Operations and Engineering the ability to monitor platform health and performance
? Spread knowledge across team members. Identify knowledge gaps, create documentation, cross-train, learn and share new ideas.
Requirements
? Scripting: Cron, Perl, Python, Shell
? Strong DB2 database performance tuning
? Experience setting up, optimizing and operating HADR clusters
? Experience with DB2 on AWS/EC2 and Azure/VM including HADR
? Understanding of database security concepts and how to secure DB2 database
? Experience in managing large databases in a critical
? Formal Certification in AWS (AWS Cloud Practitioner minimum, AWS Solutions Architect preferred) or in Azure ( Fundation Az-900 )
? Sufficient Linux experience to comfortably support the DB2 environment including scripts and job schedules to automate and monitor database management
? 10+ years of experience as a DB2 DBA
? 5+ years of experience managing SaaS environments in a mission critical production environment
Preferred
? Bachelor?s degree preferred
? Linux Certifications preferred
? SaaS experience
? AWS/Azure experience
? IBM DB2 certifications in performance tuning, architecture, security
? Experience or knowledge of other data platforms would be beneficial including MS-SQL, MongoDB, Oracle, Snowflake, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, Postgres, MySQL and HBase
