Director, Clinical Affairs (Contract) Job Opening in Atlanta, Georgia - The mission of ModusOne Health is to assist in and monitor the progress of improvement in clinical diagnosis and documentation. ModusOne Health offers innovative training solutions that empower physicians to work more effectively within any CDI (Clinical Documentation Improvement) regime. As opposed to query-based systems designed to complete the record in the traditional look-back fashion, ModusOne programs enable clinicians to more accurately identify and concurrently document complications, co-morbidities (CCs), and major CCs (MCCs) up front. This allows for more complete and accurate documentation of each case as the chart is being written. The net results are physicians that train themselves in the nuances of ICD-10 compliant documentation and hospitals that provide higher quality patient care and produce improved financial performance. The company was founded by physicians and is managed by both physicians and physician assistants to enable a collegial approach to our unique services.
This position is a contract with potential for full-time employment.
Job Responsibilities:
Review the clinical documentation to facilitate the accurate representation of the severity of illness, expected risk of mortality, and complexity of care by improving the quality of the physician's clinical documentation for focused conditions.
Oversees, directs, and supports the internal chart review team to ensure accuracy and quality for not only the chart review process but also for the contracted healthcare facility's performance report.
Educate healthcare providers on specific conditions and CDI practices to ensure documentation accuracy.
Partner with the internal medical team to ensure accuracy of diagnostic data and completeness of supporting documentation and to identify documentation trends, issues and potential solutions.
Plays an active role in creating and maintaining the focused clinical condition list to ensure the condition definitions are up to current medical care standards, ICD-10 requirements, etc
Serves as an authoritative resource on interpretation and application of CDI practices, coding rules and regulations, and diagnostic data for the focused condition list.
Acts as a liaison between the company and the contracted healthcare facility
Communicate with the CEO, CMO, CFO, medical providers, and others as needed, on provider performance reports and other initiatives
Play an active role in training the internal chart review team on the focused condition list and other company initiatives.
Play a role with the provider engagement, relationship establishment and maintenance related to CDI and documentation improvement efforts.
Additional Skills and Abilities:
Excellent written/oral skills ? Possess skills to interact effectively with individuals of all backgrounds
Demonstrates effective leadership skills in strategic planning, organization, and coordination with both internal and external initiatives.
Must demonstrate a strong clinical knowledge and have the ability to communicate effectively with the clinical care team.
Proficient with excel, word, power point, and google docs.
Job and Educational Requirements:
Must have 3-5 years of clinical experience.
Graduate of an accredited PA program, will hold a Bachelor's Degree or a Master?s Degree, and will have training and experience commensurate with the expectations of the Chairman of the Department of Medicine.
Certified in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required.
Experience in Internal Medicine or Family Practice care preferred.
