Software Quality Assurance Engineer II Job Opening in Chattanooga, Tennessee - Job Summary:
A Software Quality Assurance Engineer II develops and executes test plans, creates automated test scripts for new and existing products, and performs regression testing as required for scheduled releases. A QAE II is also responsible for contributing to the team by planning and executing quality assurance methods and techniques to ensure that projects meet quality standards. This includes test procedures, matrices, status reports and final test reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Writes test procedures based on project documents and information obtained from project stakeholders
? Prioritizes test cases, focusing on high-risk areas and critical functionality
? Executes test procedures according to plans and schedule. Reports status to Project Manager, and ensures quality standards are met for assigned projects
? Escalates issues to project management that either requires management intervention or as communication that the issue may cause a delay to the project
? Identifies and prioritizes unreleased issues and enters them directly into a defect tracking tool (TFS)
? Tracks status of reported issues, verifies and closes resolved work items
? Creates automated test scripts for new and existing products as assigned
? Performs regression testing as required for releases
? Updates test plans and automated test scripts to ensure they are kept current
? Provides feedback and recommendations regarding software usability and functionality
? Receives bug reports from the Help Desk and other departments, assesses them and enters work items in TFS as necessary
Education and Work Experience (Preferred):
? Experience with Team Foundation Server or other code management and issue tracking tool
? Experience with manual and automated testing, testing tools, writing test plans and reviewing test cases
? General product knowledge of TractManager or similar products
? Macintosh experience
? iOS experience
? Android experience
? A minimum of one year testing experience
