The Administrator is responsible for coordinating nursing care in Assisted Living and Memory Care to promote maximum health and independence for residents and responsible for the continuum services. Manages under the direction of the Administrator of Rigby Lake Assisted living, aligned and accepted standards of practice. Manages Assisting Living Nursing team nurses and Medication Aides insuring residents needs are being met. Ensures regulatory compliance with the Department of Social Services and practices are provided in accordance with Enhanced Services policies and procedures. Facilitates transfer for residents who require another level of medical and nursing care.
Additional Responsibilities include:
- Participates in Resident Review, morning report, and meetings to assure an appropriate level of assistance and continuity of care for residents.
- Conducts regulatory oversight by performing records audit; Medication records, physician orders, Assessment and Service Plan updates.
- Responsible to manage for the Staffing, Retention and Recognition; as well as coaching, counseling and taking disciplinary action.
- Insures supervisors conduct timely performance evaluations and take appropriate personnel actions according to community policy.
- Provides feedback to supervisors and staff regarding performance.
- Oversees the proper completion of departmental reports to include incidents, CQI, quarterly oversight, other pertinent reports.
- Recommends updates and develops policies and procedures that govern daily operations for Assisted Living in line with the regulations of the Department of Social Services.
- Audits records for appropriate admission paperwork, annual requirements, as well as medication administration and nursing documentation.
- Promotes a teaming environment in accomplishing duties, utilizing the facility customer service expectations.
- Oversees development and coordination of a service plan, based on needs identified in the UAI that involves resident and family participation and meets with current and prospective residents and their families.
- Manages the coordination of admissions to Assisted Living programs, or transfers within Assisted Living Programs or to Health Care Center and consults with Health Care Center on residents returning to Assisted Living.
- Develops and submits budgetary recommendations; monitors the expenditure of funds to assure optimal utilization of available resources by monthly financial reviews.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides direct supervision of Enhanced Services Supervisors.
Assigns work and reviews/revises schedules and assignments to assure residents? needs are met; serves as a resource to team in decision-making
Recruits, interviews, hires, and provides new employee orientation process steps and information; provides coaching and discipline for team and, working with HR, terminates employees in accordance with philosophy; coordinates employee relations matters with Human Resources team
Ensures supervisors conduct performance appraisals and personnel actions according to community policy

Meets with current and prospective residents and their families

Consults with Health Care Center on residents returning to Assisted Living
Coordinates nursing intervention and support for residents living in Enhanced Services and The Chesapeake
Facilitates transfers to the appropriate care facility for residents who develop acute or life threatening health problems, who are unable to function appropriately in their Enhanced Services apartment or The Chesapeake, or who require another level of medical and nursing care
Conducts regulatory oversight by performing random records audit (medication records, physician orders, Assessment and Service Plan updates for Enhanced Services)
Audits records for appropriate admission paperwork, annual requirements, as well as medication administration and nursing documentation

Ensures residents are charged appropriately for supplies and medications
Recommends updates and writes policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of Enhanced Services within the regulations of the Department of Social Services
Provides instruction, ongoing education, resources, and coaching to staff as needed to be consistent with regulations of the Department of Social Services and policies
QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed Assisted Living Administrator
Nursing experience, at least LPN License preferred
Demonstrated effective communication skills
Bachelor?s degree from accredited college or university in Healthcare Management, Healthcare Administration or a related field.
Experience in completing the Uniform Assessment Instrument preferred
Experience in completing Social Services plans in accordance with DSS regulations preferred
Familiarity with Department of Social Services regulations preferred
Experience in concepts of Continuing Care Retirement Communities
Experience working with an aging population
Excellent interpersonal skills
General computer skills
Managerial or supervisory experience
