Bookkeeper/Payroll Specialist Job Opening in Grants Pass, Oregon - Local construction company is seeking a bookkeeper/payroll specialist for their Grants Pass location. Must be proficient in Quickbooks. Must be able to enter data into project management software, databases or other computerized systems to maintain up-to-date client and vendor information. Effectively communicate and discuss the status of jobs with supervisors and clients. Assist with collecting delinquent accounts and small claims filing. Problem solving and critical thinking skills is a key component.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Prepares weekly payroll checks and reports tax withholding to proper authorities.
Prepares federal and state payroll tax deposits, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
Reconciles bank and credit card account balances.
Invoice, create estimates and make vendor payments using Quickbooks.
Provide direct support to supervisors and co-workers.
Enters data into project management software, databases or other computerized systems to maintain up-to-date client and vendor information.
Discuss any changes/conflicts in scheduling and business matters. Must be able to prioritize tasks. Ability to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
Review inquiries to determine needs and demand.
Creates spreadsheets and track job information.
Provide support for coordinating and creating schedules, able to make hotel and travel arrangements, timely answering phone and email inquiries. Monitor files and shipments.
Timely file appropriate documentation. Must be comfortable with electronic filing.
Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement; identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers; participate as a team player in all phases of the organization; and is open and responsive to change.
Personally provide customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times.
Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
Adhere to the Company safety standards and enforce safety regulations.
Candidate must be able to multi-task and problem-solve
Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
At least 2 years of experience in payroll and accounting.
Quickbooks knowledge a must.
Demonstrated knowledge of current laws and procedures as required for payroll processing.
Knowledge and experience with accounting and office management systems, procedures, and functions.
Able to work effectively with customers and co-workers.
Excellent record keeping and organizational skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain sustained concentration with attention to detail.
Excellent computer, 10 key, and keyboarding skills, including thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Valid Oregon Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
An associate's degree in accounting or business
