Senior Estimator/Sales Job Opening in Northfield, Massachusetts - Who we are: High-end custom woodworking, millwork, and furniture shop, located in Northfield, MA. 95% of our business occurs in the Metro-Boston area with some outlying areas like the Vineyard and Vermont. We have a very stable work environment with a great team and good benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Who we?re looking for: A strong vibrant personality to lead our sales, marketing, and estimating team. This person would collaborate daily with the company owner and senior project manager to help keep our pipeline full of projects, plus manage our marketing strategies.
Specific details:
Estimating (60% of the job- Bidding takes up a large portion of time on a weekly basis and is one of the more important aspects of this job).
Generate material and labor take-offs using MS Excel, and present proposals for custom millwork, cabinets, and furniture to customers using MS Word.
Excellent computer and typing skills are a must.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail during the bidding process is a must, as is knowledge of woodworking techniques, woods, hardware, and general cabinetry terminology.
Any drafting skills, such as on Sketch-up, 2020, or AutoCAD is not necessary, but is a big plus.
Sales (30% of the job)
Weekly trips into the Boston and surrounding areas to meet with existing customers and potential new customers (contractors, architects, designers, and homeowners). New customers to include a combination of referral and website business as well as straight-up old school ?cold calls? on potential new contacts.
Good personal communication and an easy-going affable character ? we prefer to use a personal touch in communicating with our clients, i.e. Phone calls rather than emails when communicating.
Ability to triage through the numerous bid requests to focus on discrete targeting and most likely job prospects.
Marketing (10% of the job)
Manage the design and information on our new website
Manage print materials (ads in magazines, etc.)
Manage our social media (Instagram, Houzz, Google+, and Facebook)
Interact and participate in the local Boston building community (BRAGBY)
Organize photo shoots of newly completed work
Spear head our customer relations for after project follow through
