Credit Analyst II - Corporate Banking Job Opening in Honolulu, Hawaii - Perform due diligence in the analysis and underwriting of commercial loans. Identify and assess key credit risks, and analyze financial statements of the Bank's commercial borrowers. Exercise prudent judgment in preparing written summaries of credit risks and work with other departmental personnel in the preparation of approval memorandums as assigned. Work independently to prepare written summaries of credit risks and complete approval memorandums. Utilize cash flow projections and formulate alternative risk scenarios in support of credit requests.

Major Job Accountabilities

Collects and analyzes financial and related loan applicant data to determine general credit worthiness of the customer and the merits of specific loan product and structure. Recommends and obtains approval for credit products (e.g. term loans, lines of credit, standby letters of credit, trade letters of credit, ACH exposure, merchant services, credit cards, overdrafts and daylight overdrafts) to include renewals and maturities.
Establishes and negotiates when necessary, the terms under which credit will be extended including the costs, repayment method and schedule, and collateral requirements.
Builds and presents appropriate financial solutions (across the complete range of products and services) and executes transactions that create customer and company value. Recommends cross-selling opportunities of other Bank products to retain and increase profitability of business relationships.
Collaborates with Business Banking, Credit Administration, Retail Lending and other relevant departments to retain, deepen and grow small business relationships. Provides support and assistance in loan product/service training sessions for Business Relationship Managers and branch personnel.
Assists in the development and maintenance of Bank lending policies and operating procedures which are consistent with Bank objectives. Makes recommendations regarding improving operations and creating efficiencies.
Participates in sales calls and is involved in community groups in a leadership capacity to acquire and build business relationships.

Minimum Education Requirements: College (4-year) Degree

Indicate Degree Major Field of Study: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related

Experience Required

3 years - Commercial Credit analysis or relevant financial analysis experience.

Required Skills or Training

Thorough understanding of commercial credit underwriting principles and financial analysis
Understanding of the essentials of commercial cash flow analysis.
Thorough understanding of the quality of earnings concepts (ex: the ability to calculate the growth and management's impact on cash flow and the capacity of the borrower to generate sustainable, recurring cash flow.)
Understanding of the essentials of commercial loan structuring (ex: determination of financial covenants, collateral issues, guarantees and 3rd party support.)
Thorough understanding of commercial loan documentation.
Ability to independently compute and evaluate individual cash flow analysis and business tax return analysis.
Experience with credit management system.
Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office software products.
Excellent communication skills.
