Logistics Specialist Job Opening in Kamuela, Hawaii - W. M. Keck Observatory (WMKO) seeks a Logistics Specialist to work under the general supervision of the Facilities Supervisor. The Logistics Specialist is responsible for handling logistics at WMKO?s headquarters and the summit facilities (14,000 feet elevation). Logistics includes procurements, inventory of critical spare parts, stocking, storage and auditing of supplies, shipping and receiving, working closely with Purchasing, and interfacing with vendors for equipment repairs and returns. Additional functions include maintaining and updating required Safety Data Sheets (SDS), recordkeeping in collaboration with the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Officer.
Required qualifications
High school diploma.
Five (5) years? work experience in operations or related field.
Preferred qualifications
Procurement, budgeting, and analysis skills desired.
Experience working in an operations work environment.
Experience working at an astronomical observatory.
Supervisory and training experience.
AS degree in a technical field.
