SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to develop architectural specifications through Architects, Designers, Facility Managers and General Contractors, for Exterior Cladding applications with Corian® solid surface material in the Philadelphia, Baltimore Washington DC territory.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop architectural specifications by maintaining a constant and consistent action plan for calling on architectural firms, and to a lesser degree contractor, within the territory.
Maintain a consistent dialogue and support with key decision makers for projects as they develop, change and progress through the architectural sales cycle.
Planning >Schematics >Design Development >Construction Docs >Bidding >Construction * Develop new project opportunities through personal sales efforts with architects, envelope consultants, contractors and specifiers involved with new development or renovation work for existing building exteriors.
Create short and long term sales plans to penetrate architectural firms, developers and property owners.
Execute sales plans created within agreed upon timelines.
Effectively use company sales tools to promote products in formal presentations to architects, designers and targeted organizations.
Participate in local chapter meetings and other targeted association events like AIA, Building Enclosure Council (BEC), Construction Specifiers (CSI), etc?.
Participate in National or Regional Architectural Tradeshows and Conferences when in territory (AIA, Greenbuild, ABX, FacadesPlus?.)
Responsible for the timely management and communication across all parties to ensure successful sales implementation of programs.
Maintain accurate project details and developments within and DuPont?s databases.
Position may be asked to assist with Route-to-Market duties from time of bid to time of panel installation. This includes managing and supporting the needs of local contractors through the bidding process, as well as acting as the main liaison between DuPont and other key project participants.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Possess in-depth knowledge of Corian, various sales and marketing techniques and financial principles.
Understanding and experience in exterior wall systems and components from interior sheathing to façade. Knowledge of fire and energy codes is a plus.
Ability to effectively work the position territory through knowledge of industry contacts such as architects, design professionals, contractors, consultants and other key professionals.
Ability to make presentations in front of large audiences.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and professional journals.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Ability to read and interpret project drawings.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a wide variety of individuals, including customers, architects, designers and senior management.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities and contribute to building a positive team spirit.
Exhibit sound and accurate judgment.
Ability to support and explain reasoning for decisions; include appropriate people in decision making process.
Prioritize and plan work activities of self and team; plan additional resources within the scope of assigned responsibilities.

Possess a general knowledge and ability to work in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Possess a valid and unencumbered driver?s license.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Bachelor?s degree (B.A) from a four-year college or university in business, engineering, marketing or related area, plus seven (7) years of progressive sales, marketing and managerial experience in the architectural industry.
