Role: Software Development Manager
Role Description: The Software Development Manager would need to have at least 3+ years of experience. This Candidate will be a key contributor to the overall success of the organization.
The person in this role must be an experienced technical manager who is able to plan and manage the allocation of work across a team of JavaScript developers and cybersecurity analysts. The Development Manager must be able to align day-to-day tasking with the overall delivery objectives of the company to provide client and product solutions in a timely fashion.
The Software Development Manager will work closely with the Director of Software Development to quantify team capacity and performing resource allocation planning. This role is also responsible for managing all Development Team activities and providing status on these activities to Senior Management.
Experience with JavaScript and server side development on is required. Experience with architecture, design and setting the technical course of a development team is critical. While this is a leadership position, it is likely the case that this position will be assisting in development with common concepts in cybersecurity is important, but not entirely necessary. The nature of this position will require managing security projects to completion.
This person will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with highly skilled professionals in a team environment and will be required to demonstrate a high level of self-initiative and analytical skills. This role relies heavily on the ability to build strong relationships with other teams, react to changing conditions and manage technical staff.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in defining and leading technical direction to deliver mission critical business functionality to internal and external clients.
- Participate in selecting and implementing technical architecture of assigned projects and being responsible for the technical delivery of those projects.
- Act as a career manager for developers, perform roles and responsibility discussions, performance reviews, and act as a mentor.
- Hold the team and him/herself accountable to a defined charge-ability metric.
- Oversee system performance analysis, design, programming, testing, debugging, and documentation for assigned projects.
- Work with the application support and documentation groups to develop technical and user training materials for new systems and major system enhancements.
- Participates in process improvement efforts and act as a champion of change.
- Provide experience-based, technical leadership to the Development Team in conjunction with the Architects.
- Identify, propose and champion improvements to existing systems and analyze the adaptability of these systems.

- Ability to establish strong working relationships at all organizational levels and across functional teams.
- Must be able to identify and manage priorities within the context of overall corporate objectives.
- Exceptional ability to organize and multi-task.
- Experience performing capacity planning and resource allocation plans is a must.
- Ability to be effective in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change frequently.
- Ability to acts as a Scrum Master as needed for certain development efforts.
- Must be more than proficient at both written and spoken English.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline OR certificate from an accredited technical school/program in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience managing Javascript development teams of 7-10 developers is required.
- Practical hands-on Javascript development experience with and server side development.
- Experience with AWS
- Proven delivery experience working under an Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Experience with AngularJS is a plus.-Experience in Cybersecurity is important.
- Experience developing reports for end-user consumption is a plus.
Education: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline
