Director of Sales Job Opening in Warrenton, Virginia - Great opportunity to join our management team as the Director of Sales for our 170 acre, 21 room boutique resort complete with inn, spa, restuarant and event venue. Seasoned, mature and dedicated candidate should be naturally ambitious, self-motivated, and gracious with extensive experience in Special Event and Catering Sales. Position will be responsible for the complete sales cycle from inquiry, to proposals, site visits and contracts, with an understanding of final event execution and oversight with the assistance of an Event Coordinator. Compensation is commensurate with experience, with performance based incentives.
Performance goal:
The Director of Sales is responsible for planning and implementing sales & marketing programs, with short and long terms goals in mind. Needs to ensure the perfect execution of large dinners, receptions, events, weddings, meetings, that require food and beverage. Work very closely with the full operations team, communicating all details planned and unplanned, when necessary. Directs all front desk staff, servers, bartenders and back waits, delegating duties and checking on their work. Overall, ensure a pleasant guest experience.
Will work directly with Executive Management team (to include GM, F&B director, Culinary staff, Guest Services/Inn, Spa and Facilities staff) to ensure all event logistics are understood and executed to exceed client expectation.
:
Responsible for all Event Sales for the entire property (Inn, Spa, Manor House Restaurant)
Manage/maintain property website, with ad agency assistance
Assist with planning, development, and evaluating advertising & marketing opportunities
Public Relations representative for the property
Monitor competitor products and services
Responsible for the consistent corporate image for all property promotional collateral & events
Represent property at Chamber of Commerce events
Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key partners
Complete all necessary event paperwork
Responsible for timely administrative duties: emailing, faxing, copying, word processing, phone support, creating/e-mailing correspondence, and provide back-up support
Process contracts, BEO?s, file folders and other related documents
Event Sales Coordinator position reports to the Director of Sales
Event coordination ? assign tasks to all staff members & delegate; follow up
Plan all aspects of designated meetings as defined by specified criteria
Ability to prepare event proposals, using a standard template
Understanding and daily use of our sales database
Runs reports as required for overall status of events
Field all inquiry phone calls for event business
Customer follow up after meeting or function to evaluate event
Attend and participate in pertinent staff and departmental meetings
All of the above should be completed in a timely fashion in accordance with the standard policies/procedures designated for each task
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years special event management, sales and hospitality experience
Strong knowledge of and passion for fine dining, wines and five star service
Excellent organizational skills
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Leadership skills with polish and poise, and a proven ability to inspire confidence both from clients and colleagues
Ability to think creatively and not be afraid to step into an active role during events to ensure the successful outcome of any event
Must have great taste, with knack for space planning and event design
Ability to lead, direct and ensure the execution of actio plans for event setup, service teams, outside vendors and, of course, our guests
