JOB DESCRIPTION: Principal Engineer
We are seeking a talented, forward-thinking, hands-on, technically advanced engineer who will conceive and drive technical execution of technology solutions that disrupt the hospitality software industry. This individual will play a key role in defining the target architecture for Pegasus solutions and developing and leading implementation of the transformation plan to get us there. We are looking for an individual who can quickly master complex business processes and design massively scalable, highly-available software systems to deliver software services in a fast-moving, high-change environment.

Required Skill Set:
Expert technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementation. Good to excellent understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance.
Current in contemporary software development, deployment and management tools including cloud services architecture and deployment.
Recent, relevant, hands-on experience developing high-volume transaction processing systems.
Advanced analytical, design and problem-solving skills.
Capable of earning technical authority necessary to define and drive compliance with architecture strategy and standards ? must be a natural technical leader who engineers listen to not because they have to, but s/he has earned their technical respect.
Full-stack hands-on development ability ? capable of rapidly developing proofs of concept to evaluate architecture approaches and/or OSS components.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Person must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with technical staff, non-technical staff, end-users for requirements gathering, testing, training, and outcome validation. Good English-language skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent team-oriented interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional project team environment.
Communicate consistently and effectively with internal business partners to understand appropriate business requirements.
Actively supports strategic future, culture and leadership practices.
Education and Experience:
BS in Computer Science / Computer Information Systems or equivalent degree, or equivalent experience can be substituted for degree
Advanced knowledge of Modern OS architecture concepts and communications protocols
Advanced database design and development
Full-stack expertise including contemporary technologies
10+ years previous development experience preferred
