General Manager Job Opening in New Orleans, Louisiana - This position is for the General Manager of an up-scale 108 boutique style recently renovated hotel at the foot of the French Quarter. This manager will have much contact with guests and be intimately involved in all aspects of hotel operations, is involved in the day to day running of the hotel, including carrying out reception and revenue duties. To achieve this, the Hotel Manager should run the hotel in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures and Policies as set out by the brand and ownership.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will include Salary and bonuses for superior performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Hotel General Manager job duties and responsibilities include the following:
Managing budgets and financial plans and controlling expenditures;
Maintaining statistical and financial records;
Managing department heads to ensure brand standards, guest satisfaction scores and inspections are being met.
Setting and achieving revenue and net profit targets;
Recruiting, training and monitoring staff;
Planning work schedules for individuals and teams;
Meeting and greeting customers;
Dealing with customer complaints and comments;
Addressing problems and troubleshooting;
Supervising maintenance, supplies, renovations and furnishings;
Dealing with contractors and suppliers;
Carrying out inspections of property and services;
Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.

Education and qualifications
Should have at least a bachelor?s degree in business, hotel, or hospitality management with at least three years of management experience within the hotel industry.
