Building Commissioning Authority (Engineer) Job Opening in seattle, Washington - Building Commissioning Authority (Engineer) Welsh Commissioning Group, Inc. is a full service building commissioning provider with headquarters in Auburn, Washington and we will be opening a Portland, OR office this summer. WCG is a firm of a dozen individuals dedicated to providing the best commissioning services available in the industry. We only provide building commissioning and related services, as we believe to excel one must be focused. Our goal is to ensure that our clients receive new buildings that are designed, constructed and turned over in such a way as to be sustainable, efficient and meet all operational needs. WCG currently serves the west coast states including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, California, Nevada, Utah, Alaska and Hawaii and we occasionally take our expertise nationally and internationally. We are currently seeking a Building Commissioning Authority to staff our Auburn, WA office and also have an interest in opening an office in Salt Lake City, UT. The commissioning professional is involved with the building delivery process from the design phase through post occupancy. Job duties include working with the client to develop scope and project requirements, commissioning specification development, design reviews, submittal reviews, conducting meetings, verifying contractor startup activities, verifying proper system installation, developing and executing functional performance tests, tracking issues to resolution, project closeout activities, developing systems manuals and conducting post occupancy reviews. All activities are fully documented. Commissioned systems include major building systems such as HVAC, lighting, control systems, plumbing systems, renewable energy systems, power, building envelope, fire & life safety, security and communications. The commissioning professional works closely with a wide range of individuals including building occupants, maintenance staff, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers and building inspectors. Desired Qualifications: Bachelors degree in engineering and at least 5 years of commissioning, building design/construction or facilities management related experience with an emphasis on HVAC * PE is desirable. BCA CCP certification and LEED AP are desirable. * Extensive experience and demonstrated commissioning related skills may be considered in lieu of Bachelors degree. * Must have proven project management skills and ability to work independently * Must have strong written and verbal communication skills * Must have strong interpersonal skills * Have a comprehensive understanding of control theory and building automation systems including packaged controls * Broad understanding of all building systems * Understanding of the building delivery process (design/construction) * Familiarity with USGBC LEED and sustainability * Ability to travel Qualified applicants can e-mail resume and letter of interest to .
