Sustainability Analyst Job Opening in Christiansburg, Virginia - Community Housing Partners (CHP) announces an opening for a Sustainability Analyst .
CHP is a reputable leader in the field of affordable housing and community development, with operations and communities throughout Virginia, North and South Carolina, Kentucky, Florida and Maryland. With mission-based corporate values and strong business operations in the preservation and construction of green, sustainable, affordable housing, CHP currently owns and manages over 6,000 multi-family units in a dynamic, diverse and fast-paced environment.
The Sustainability Analyst responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Analyze monthly utility usage data
Report on utility usages and problems across the CHP portfolio; identify and recommend corrective action
Work with Voyager and the YES energy management system to provide consistent results
Work with CHP marketing department to develop and produce resident engagement and training information regarding utility usage
Provide feedback to property managers to help identify adverse trends and solutions
Work with CHP Green Team and other CHP groups, as requested, on various projects
Periodically review energy monitoring systems; collect data and report out as necessary
Work with the Energy Star Portfolio Manager system to track utility data as can be received; to include data entry to capture historical usage
Incorporate CHP?s goals of the Better Buildings Challenge (BBC) into data capture and analysis
Coordinate implementation of new and/or supplemental energy tracking systems
Participate in SAHF Energy DATA Peer Group activities, to include training classes and conference calls
Collaborate with other departments and teams as necessary
Other tasks/duties assigned by supervisor
This position works closely with members of other departments within CHP to achieve corporate goals. Interacts with external partners, investors, lenders, regulators and auditors. Must be able to develop and maintain a positive working relationship with various internal and external partners. Position requires initiative and self-starter abilities, prioritizing work and handling competing demands simultaneously with intermittent interruptions. Must be able to travel throughout the portfolio to conduct audits, training, etc.
The successful candidate will have the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor?s degree in related field or equivalent experience is required
Proficiency in spreadsheet and computerized accounting applications
Knowledge and ability to read and analyze financial performance data/reports
Excellent computer skills and thorough knowledge of MS Office applications required
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize conflicting demands and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently, solve problems and adapt to changes in structure and work priorities.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Knowledge and experience in working as a collaborative team member and a willingness to be assigned to help team members to achieve departmental goals.
