Sales Manager for Branded Products Job Opening in Woodbine, Iowa - Plans and implements sales, marketing and product development programs, short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develops and implements strategic marketing plans and sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
Develops and manages sales/marketing operating budgets.
Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
Develops and recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
Achieves satisfactory profits and market share in relation to preset goals.
Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within established budgets.
Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive environments.
Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
Establishes relationships with industry influencers and strategic partners.
Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to management.
Establishes and maintains consistent brand images throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs.
Establishes sales territories, quotas, and goals.
Represents the company at trade association meetings and other events to promote products.
Meets with key clients, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships, and negotiating and closing deals.
Coordinates communications between sales and other sales related departments or functions.
Analyzes and controls expenditures of department to meet budgetary requirements.
Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volumes, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION
Demonstrated in-depth sales and marketing techniques and financial principles.
Effective ability to communicate orally or in writing with co-management, internal, and external customers.
Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
Bachelor level degree, and ten years experience in sales management including both field and company headquarters environments.

Proper lifting techniques are required. This may include lifting up to 25 pounds for files and printed materials.
The performance of this position does occasionally require exposure to the production areas which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses or hearing protection. The primary work environment has temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
The individual must be available beyond the normal week work days, including weekends and evenings as necessary to perform assigned duties. Overnight travel to customer and sales territories will be 50% or more.
