AWS Cloud Architect/Engineer Job Opening in Woodstock, Georgia - (1) AWS Cloud Architect/Engineer (w/ Automation & Network Engineering Experience)
Required Experience / Skills:
3+ years AWS Cloud Architecture experience
3+ years AWS Cloud Engineering experience
Solid experience with AWS cloud components with operational cloud experience (especially hybrid cloud environments leveraging AWS)
Hands on experience building and migrating to AWS - not just managing existing, or revising existing AWS builds
Experience with installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS, and other data center services
Minimum of 5-7 years? experience with the following:
Understanding of networking and routing principles including experience with understanding OSI Layer 2, Layer 3 concepts
Experience working with BGP and MPLS routing protocols
Operational experience supporting Cisco router and switch infrastructure
F5 load balancers
Basic experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and VPN technologies
Experience with automation leveraging tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Salt, Chef and/or Terraform
Experience with scripting using Python
An analytical mind with ability to learn new technologies quickly
Strong desire to grow and evolve network, systems, and cloud skills with a company that is migrating workloads from on-premises data center infrastructure to AWS public cloud
Strong documentation skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
4 year degree
AWS Architecture/Design certification
Nice to have:
Familiarity with working with infrastructure environments supporting the financial services industry
Experience in Layer 4 / 7 Load balancing design and optimization
DNS administration
Experience with SDN / NFV technologies
Important Comments/Notes About This Role:
Must be an AWS Certified Architect and have 3+ years working on this
Automation is very important for this role ? really needs 3+ years working on automation ? there will be a scripting/coding test and set of interviews up front ? I point this out, because many candidates claim they have automation and scripting/coding experience?.only to find out that they have inflated their experience and/or don?t have hands on experience ? if they can?t do this, then they will be washed out immediately. We are also front loading this in our interviews as well. From a scripting stand point, Python is preferred, but if they have experience with other tools and have a very good understanding of the concepts, how to read it and do it with other tools then that will be acceptable
Must also have enough general Network Engineering experience
Must have worked in larger environments to scale and must have worked in always available and stressed type environments
Must be a strong communicator and be able to not just answer technical questions, but problem solving or free flow conceptual questions
Financial industry experience is a major plus
