Sr. Quality Assurance Consultant
Location: Reston, VA
Duration: Full Time with Syntel
Required Details:
Position includes both manual testing (UI, interfaces, WebServices) and activities as needed.
Actively participate as a scrum team member in all phases of the scrum process.
Functional ownership of product components/areas; Own and drive test strategy/plan and testing for small to mid-size components / functional areas / features, including end to end integration testing.
Understand the requirements and analyze the impact of the changes in the functionality / features.
Design and create test plans, test cases and test data independently.
Own defect management that includes logging, reviewing, and tracking the bugs until closure.
Provide estimates for assigned work.
Track and report progress as per plan.
Handle / assist with customer escalations as needed.
Review and assist juniors in their work.
Maintain and update all the testing related documents.
Set up and maintain the test environment, which includes installing, configuring database, web server on windows/UNIX, installing and deploying the application and troubleshooting when required.
Contribute to process and product quality improvement initiatives.
Assist management in recruitment and team building activities.
Perform any other related duties as directed by the reporting manager.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with automation tools is desirable, Selenium preferred.
Experience testing interfaces, HL7 is highly desirable.
Prior experience in non-functional testing is desirable.
Experience with HP Performance Center (LoadRunner) or other scripting tools used in automation or performance testing is highly desirable.
Experience testing under OWASP security guidelines.
Experience in Healthcare is preferred.
