Inside Sales Representative Job Opening in Vancouver, Washington - JOB SUMMARY:
Utilizes a variety of sales techniques and knowledge of animal healthcare products to sell product to customers via the telephone.
JOB DUTIES:
Answers incoming calls from customers and keys orders into computer; utilizes sales techniques to up-sell by informing customers of promotions, specials, new products, and programs; verifies customers? orders and designates shipment method and ensures it is the most economical method available;
Ensures all customer inquiries and concerns are resolved by researching product information, contacting the vendor on behalf of the customer, educating the customer on results and pricing and recommending product(s) to purchase; follows up with the customers via phone, fax, email, mail, etc. as necessary;
Completes daily outbound calls (call-out list) to inquire about the customer needs and promote specials;
Communicates with TMs and ISM/ISS to ensure timely and proper servicing of accounts and to foster a team effort on account management;
Participates in goal setting, meets established sales and service goals set by the ISM and helps to maintain and build sales at a profitable margin;
Takes customer requests for credits and returns, provides customer return authorizations and coordinates with Customer Service to ensure appropriate credit is provided to the customer; assists in collecting past due accounts and refers billing concerns and billing preferences to the Credit Department for coordination; works in conjunction with Warehouse Associates to ensure orders processed late in the day get shipped that day when necessary;
Enters customer updates (i.e., phone number changes, delivery schedule, special requests); coordinates with Corporate associates to ensure new customer information is input in the Customer Order System;
Ensures emergency shipments, drop shipments, and ?ship & bills? are ordered, shipped and billed according to established time frames and procedures; reviews and releases or cancels back orders according to customer preferences; takes necessary steps to correct product shortages; documents and forwards daily errors, credits, etc. to appointed Company representative;
Participates in staff, in-house and vendor educational meetings; increases knowledge of products and updates and maintains reference tools (e.g., ?Specials? book)
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent; advanced degree or coursework in Marketing, Animal Science, Business Administration or similar field preferred.
One to two years of experience in a sales environment utilizing suggestion selling techniques preferred; one to two years? experience in customer service essential; prior experience in a telephone call center preferred, but not required.
Prior experience as a Veterinary Technician or work I the animal healthcare industry preferred, but not required
