Currently, we are seeking a Senior Accountant.
Under the direction of the Division CFO, the Senior Accountant will use all financial resources and various company personnel to help ensure financial accuracy from the trial balance through to financial analysis for multiple plants. Works closely with other plants under our corporate umbrella the accounting groups plants to ensure effective GAAP compliance and efficient reporting systems. Applies principles of GAAP accounting to implement and administer systems to provide management with detailed transactional and data analysis. This position additionally helps support, develop and implement process improvements related to manufacturing processes through improved controls and will participate in the business forecasting process. The position requires that the individual interface effectively across all functional areas, and can perform under rigid time constraints. As this location supports multiple sites, some overnight travel will be involved.
POTENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Dependent on experience level):
Effective development, reconciliation and production of periodic financial statements including adhoc profit segment analysis. For example; product, industry or market segment profitability.
Develop into proactive information system power user utilizing current ERP system ? assist in implementation and training for satellite plant installation.
Assist Division CFO in daily banking needs.
Identify, support, and implement process improvements related to production transactions supporting our 2 day accounting close process.
Actively participate and as needed coordinate activities related to annual budgets, inventory cycle counts, financial, bank and other types of audits for two operating divisions.
Support and drive components of period end closing including a wide variety of trial balance account reconciliations and impromptu analysis of account deviations.
Prepare period end balance sheet reconciliations, schedules, financial reports and analysis of the operation performance.
Responsible for other duties, special projects, and business analysis as assigned by management.
Support the systems, processes and reporting mechanisms of a multi-divisional operation, providing improvements to operating controls and procedures as necessary.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Undergraduate accounting degree with accounting experience including ERP system knowledge, general trial balance / financial statement familiarity preferably includes experience in manufacturing environment. The incumbent should have:
Solid communication skills (written and verbal) with customers and employees at all levels.
High level of interpersonal skills including poise, tact and diplomacy.
Problem solving skills including the ability to work with a team to resolve problems.
Strong inventory and cost accounting skills.
Demonstrated commitment for continuous learning and self-development.
Be able to work independently and proactively to carry out assignments.
Strong P.C. skills with an emphasis on the Windows and the Excel application.
Ability to travel as needed.
