We are dedicated to providing unparalleled quality, service, and satisfaction to residents and investors alike Job Description Strategic * Assess company financial performance on a monthly and annual basis. * Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the Owner and COO and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations. * Assist in establishing yearly objectives and meeting agendas, and selecting and managing outside consultants (auditors, investment advisors, banks, insurance, HR etc). * Oversee long-term budgetary planning and costs management in alignment with company strategic plan. * Pushes the envelope on leveraging technology and processes to make the accounting department more efficient and integrated across departments. Financial Planning and Analysis * Prepare and maintain regular financial planning reports; Monthly profit and loss forecast (vs. budget); and prepares cash flow forecasts. * Complete analysis of financial results; Develop recommendations (strategic and tactical). * Develop and execute analysis of various business initiatives (e.g., starting new developments, establishing and tracking development costs, asset acquisition, and new development openings). * Develop and maintain capital budget for projects and corporate operations. * Assist in development of financial planning and analysis exercises/reports. * Analyzes corporate overhead. Forecasts overhead and makes necessary adjustments to optimize corporate and project costs. Accounting Activities * Oversee preparation of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements. * Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocation. * Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems * Serves as Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable manager for various operating properties and new developments. Ensure AP is managed processed in a timely manner to prevent risk to company operations. * Resolves payment issues related to vendors and consultants. * Maintains organized set of detailed records in Quick Books * Reviews and manages monthly General Ledgers * Coordinates monthly and annual accounting closeout activities * Interface with Banks and Lenders to ensure all funds accounts are managed and balanced monthly * Ensures all payables are processed in a timely manner to include processing large construction loan draws and tracking draws to development budget. * Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits. * Tracks year-end closeout to feed financial information to outside CPAs and Auditors for Tax Preparation. Cash Management * Oversee weekly cash management; Approve weekly payables; * Execute ACH Payments, Wires, and Create Checks for signing by Managers * Cash Management to include deposits and movements of funds Human Resources * Process New and Terminated Employees through standard ADP Total Source * Process Payroll and Manage Employee Benefits through ADP Total Source * Facilitate and resolve HR related issues through ADP Total Source Advisors Job Requirements * Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance from accredited university * Human Resource experience to include payroll processing * Certified Public Accountant preferred or candidate is working towards designation. * Three to Five Years or more of Demonstrated work experience in a larger firm where you were working within a large accounting team. * Ability to work without direct supervision and independently with broad guidelines. * Demonstrate excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, demanding environment. * Reliable with following through on commitments, producing timely work, setting higher standards, and pitching in to get the job done no matter the task. * Strong attention to details by monitoring adherence to standards and actively checking for accuracy of data received or generated before passing it on. * Demonstrated skills with all MS Office products especially Excel. * Demonstrated skills in QuickBooks and familiarity with Yardi Property Management software. * Innovative! Leans forward on leveraging new systems and technology to meet corporate strategic goals.
