Accounting Writer Job Opening in austin, Texas - Accounting Writer The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), an equal opportunity employer, is seeking an Accounting Writer to join our Research Department at our Austin, TX, headquarters. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The Accounting Writer will use his/her subject matter expertise in the field of auditing, accounting, or forensic accounting to help the ACFE Research Department develop, write, and update high-quality anti-fraud educational materials. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Writes, updates, edits, and formats content for ACFE educational course materials and publications. 2. Works with outside authors, as necessary, to develop informational content. 3. Assists in the creation and editing of content for interactive media products, such as online self-study courses and test preparation software. 4. Creates examination and review questions for self-study courses. 5. Reviews outside newsletters and other content for new standards, laws, regulations, or other information related to fraud for inclusion in products. 6. Provides information and guidance to production team, members, and staff regarding accounting issues. 7. Answers e-mails and phone calls from members, media, and the public regarding fraud, accounting topics, and ACFE publications. 8. Develops, maintains, and promotes effective internal and external relationships and works collaboratively with other ACFE employees and members. 9. Adheres to schedules and deadlines. 10. Performs other duties as requested or required. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 1. Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or related field; advanced degree in Accounting or Business strongly preferred. 2. Licensed CPA strongly preferred. 3. At least three years of experience as an auditor, accountant, or forensic accountant in public accounting, private industry, or government. 4. CFE designation strongly preferred at hiring or afterward. 5. Knowledge of current accounting and auditing rules and standards. 6. Excellent writing skills. 7. Excellent research abilities. 8. Experience writing and/or editing in an educational or professional publishing environment preferred. 9. Thorough understanding of grammar, style, and current English usage. 10. Proven skills in organizing work, communicating effectively, attending to detail, taking direction, managing time effectively, and handling multiple tasks in a timely manner. 11. Proven skills in collaborating with staff across departments and working effectively with advisors such as educators, researchers, and other professionals. 12. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. 13. Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. BENEFITS INCLUDE: ?
