Software Engineer Job Opening in Morrisville, North carolina - The Software Engineer will meet with R&D users to understand and
document their requirements (e.g. with mock-ups), and reach agreement within the project team about what should be implemented.
SOFTWARE PROGRAMMING: Design and implement new or enhanced functionality ?hands-on? in software systems that fits the agreed user requirements
WORKING WITH VENDORS: Work with external software vendors to resolveissues that arise with their software, so that Bayer?s overall IT solution works for the users.
SOFTWARE TESTING/QA: Perform testing of the new software functionality with the goal of finding and fixing as many errors as possible before the system is given to the users for the user acceptance test. Support for user acceptance testing and hypercare, so that the system can be prepared for the rollout
EFFORT ESTIMATION: Providing estimates on technology solutions delivery and integration effort, so that the project manager can prioritize and schedule the work.
VERSION CONTROL: Manage system components in Version control softwareMicrosoft Team Foundation Server
DOCUMENTATION: Develop and Maintain Technical Documentation of the system, so that the application support team can support the solution after the project ends.
AGILE TEAM MEMBER: Be engaged as member of an Agile/Scrum team, usingthe Scrum process (daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, estimation of user stories)
Education Requirement(s):
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Skill & Competency Requirements:
7+ years of experience in full SDLC including leading development of technical solutions in all phases from validation of business requirements, technical design, and implementation through test and rollout
Microsoft development: object-oriented design and development in the Microsoft 4 environment; experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft IIS, Forms development, MVC, JSON, XML and XML Web Services, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript
Oracle and SQL Server relational databases: database design and development, PL/SQL, T-SQL, stored procedures, packages and triggers, experience with database modelling tools
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, Comfortable discussing with clients and project management, Strong team player, Flexibility, Attention to detail, Highly motivated, Professional approach to work, Commitment to project goals and target dates, Reliability, Good organization skills
Preferences:
Contributes ideas about how to best implement user requirements, Feelscomfortable taking the initiative when necessary
Experience with iFormBuilder or similar cloud-based ?form builder? software for mobile data capture would be a plus.
