Plant Accountant Job Opening in Marshall, Illinois - JOB TITLE: Plant Accountant
DEPARTMENT: Accounting
REPORTS TO: Controller
STATUS: Exempt
SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the Plant Controller in the preparation of all financial and cost data. To provide management with accurate information in the areas of costs, budgets, payroll, forecasting and to do so in an efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and lead all aspects of daily and monthly accounting cycle functions.
Champion for ERP system. Continue implementation of supporting modules.
Lead and direct month end closing. Financial statement generation and variance analysis.
Accounts Payable management, Accounts Receivable management, cash flow management and other ad hoc reporting required to make sound financial decisions.
Cultivate growth with purchasing department staff and inventory control staff to ensure best practices are developed and managed going forward as best in class.
Analyze and monitor raw material, WIP and finished goods inventory.
Track manufactured parts through production plant by assemblies, sub-assemblies, to finished goods ? Job Cost
Assist in development of production reporting to relieve inventories and scrap reporting.
Strong in Excel
EDUCATION (OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE):
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting/Finance
7 + years of accounting/finance experience
Experienced in Manufacturing Environment, preferably engineered to order
Extensive knowledge and experience with ERP Software
Process driven, focused on continuous improvement
Experience in leading teams in problem solving
Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting StandardsRequired education:
