Part Time Bookkeeper Job Opening in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin - The Bookkeeper is responsible for fiscal control, budget research and reporting, general bookkeeping duties and finance-related tasks of the various activities and programs within the Elkhart Lake Chamber of Commerce (ELCOC) organization, as well as answering general inquiries about the ELCOC and greeting visitors. The Bookkeeper is supervised by the Executive Director of the Elkhart Lake Chamber of Commerce.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND TASKS
Fiscal Management
- Assist the Executive Director in the fiscal management of the Chamber
- Daily oversight of the budget; Keep the Executive Director advised as to the status of the budget
- Manage the accounts receivable of the Chamber, including all invoicing, statements, receipting in QuickBooks and collections.
- Timely, accurate processing and payment of all accounts payable for the Chamber
- Manage accounting services related to the Depot Dispatch, Farmers Market, Lodging Program, which includes invoicing, receipting and collections.
- Process payroll, file all payroll reports and maintain all required payroll records for the Chamber
- Monitor and reconcile all cash, bank, and postage accounts
- Prepare monthly financial reports which also will be provided to the Chamber Board of Directors for the Chamber
- Manage accounts receivables, invoicing, and process accounts payable for Tourism Commission; Provide reporting to the Elkhart Lake Village
- Maintenance of all financial records
- Budget planning, guest registration, and management of the cashiering process at various Chamber networking events
- Filing, payment and reporting of all federal, state and local taxes including but not limited to employment, unemployment, sales tax, room tax, temporary event reporting, etc.
- Provide all necessary financial records to the Chamber?s designated accounting firm for the completion of annual review and IRS Tax Return
- Monitor, and arrange for the purchase of supplies and repairs to the office equipment
- Oversee inventory purchases
Administrative Tasks
- Be available as needed to assist other staff members in the completion of projects
- Maintain a good working knowledge of the various committees and activities of the Chamber
- Assist in answering phones, greeting visitors and preparation for special events and other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Three to five years professional experience in bookkeeping or accounting. Associates degree in Accounting preferred. Proficiency with typing, data entry and software programs including, but not limited to QuickBooks, Excel, Microsoft Word, and Power Point. Must be proficient in the English language.
