PRIMARY FUNCTION: As a Superintendent you will support the Project Managers and General Superintendent with ensuring that company policies and procedures are followed in the field in regard to safety, scheduling, budget, production, quality, and customer satisfaction.
While performing the duties of this job, you will occasionally be exposed to outside weather and job site conditions, which may include air borne particles, vibration, fumes, and high places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to extremely loud.
While performing the duties of Superintendent, you will regularly be required to use all of your physical senses and have proficient use of all body parts. You must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: A Superintendent?s essential responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Be a leader and take charge
Travel out of state for up to two-weeks at a time
Supervise the work and monitor the wellbeing of our team members in the field
Train Foremen and their crew on proper installation and quality control expectations for each manufacturer?s product prior to starting a project and continually thereafter
Daily review, approval, and submission of daily reports to Project Managers for final approval
Deliver all receipts and other paperwork to the Project Accountant on the day such items are produced and/or received
Train Foremen and their crew on proper safety protocols
Enforce high safety standards with an emphasis on a clean job site
Ensure all Foremen are completing a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) every single day
Manage and perform weekly safety inspections
Establish daily production and quality control goals and follow through to attainment
Inspect the quality of work and ensure corrective action occurs if/when necessary
Proactively coordinate and manage materials, manpower, and all other project logistics
Monitor percentage of completion and provide mark-ups and/or drawings for support
Prepare for and attend Pre-construction and Scope of Work Reviews with job site personnel
Inspect site conditions to prevent premature mobilizations as well as ensuring timely mobilizations
Work collaboratively with the Contractor and other trades to ensure milestone dates are met
Review details with Project Managers to ensure work is in compliance with written agreement
Establish credibility among the Owner, Contractor, and other trades by maintaining a fair and trustworthy environment
Make regular (daily when possible) job site visits and attend all required and relevant job site meetings ? all visits require communicating with our customer before departing the job site
Utilize daily logs for documentation of job site visits and any other issues you encounter
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
Mastery of the English language
Maintain a valid driver?s license and auto insurance
Successfully pass a pre-employment background and motor vehicle report (MVR) check
Strong problem solving abilities and able to work calmly and effectively through crises
Strong technical and communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent problem solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs
Ability to work in a team environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe
and drawing literate with knowledge of all phases of construction
Experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER (all seen as a plus):
Spanish speaking
Bachelor?s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
5+ years related experience and/or training
Lift certifications and any trade specific licenses
OSHA 30 hour certified
