Nursing Home Administrator Job Opening in Big Rapids, Michigan - Metron of Big Rapids is searching for a Nursing Home Administrator.
Education and Experience - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in health care or business administration or related field or previous experience in supervising a long-term care Facility. Must meet state requirements for and be licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator in the State of Michigan. Must have Project Management experience in the healthcare industry.
Knowledge and Abilities - Knowledge of all phases of the operation of a licensed health care Facility including housekeeping, activities, dietary, maintenance and nursing. Knowledge of the principles of management and supervision as well as the principles of budgeting and accounting. Working knowledge of rules and regulations for maintaining licensure for a comprehensive nursing Facility in the state of Michigan and Medicaid and Medicare regulations. Some knowledge of marketing and labor/management relations. Ability to communicate effectively, to analyze problems and identify practical solutions. Ability to lead and motivate other employees. Must be of sound moral character and possess an understanding of the needs of the aging population and end of life issues. Display a positive professional image and enhance positive public relations for the Facility. Basic business computer knowledge preferred.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY ? As Administrator
A. Develop and Implement the Annual Plans For the Facility
B. Manage Facility Operations Within Established Guidelines
C. Provide For Proper Management of the Financial and/or Business Affairs of the Facility
D. Maintain Quality Lifestyle and Health Care for Facility Patients
E. Provide for Positive Public Relations with the Community, with Officials of Government and with the Patients and Families
F. Provide for Effective Supervision of Staff for all Departments
G. Provide for the Development, Evaluation, Revision and Consistent Application of Administrative, Patient Services, and Personnel Policies and Procedures
H. Enter into Contractual Agreements with Patients and Service Providers on Behalf of the Facility
I. Participate Within Various Committees
J. Designate a Responsible Individual to Serve as Acting Administrator During Periods of Absence
K. Perform Related Tasks as Required
WORK SETTING ENVIRONMENT
Works primarily indoors in a climate controlled setting. There is little or no potential for exposure to blood or airborne disease. There is known stress associated with working with patients who are ill, cognitively impaired or have behavior symptoms.
Equipment Used: Writing implements, computer, telephone system, copy machine, adding machine, testing equipment (temperature, lighting, etc.).
REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
A. Physical: Sitting for extended periods of time, bend, twist, may be required to lift up to 30 pounds, reaching above and below shoulder height, and push/pull action from sitting position, hand manipulation required includes, but not limited to, grasping, handling and torqueing. Able to see and hear adequately in order to perform described job responsibilities for full use of arms and hands to operate various pieces of office equipment.
B. Sensory: Must be able to hear normal volume sounds and voice patterns with constant background noise. Must be able to receive and follow verbal and written instruction. Must be able to assess changes in patient conditions. Must be able to respond to audible emergency signals, alarms, call lights and telephones. Must be able to read regular/small size print in multiple colors.
C. Cognitive: Must be able to remember multiple assignments over an extended period of time. Be able to remember data derived from assessments and document, review, specific requests, ideas and concepts and relate them as necessary. Must be able to concentrate on details during constant interruptions.
D. Emergency Situations: In the event of an emergency, employee must be physically able to assist in patient evacuations and life support procedures.
