The mission of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) is to save lives by fighting tirelessly to prevent and cure ovarian cancer, and to improve the quality of life for Survivors. Through national programs and local NOCC chapter initiatives, the NOCC's goal is to educate communities and increase awareness about the symptoms of ovarian cancer. The NOCC also provides information to assist newly-diagnosed patients, hope to Survivors, and support to caregivers. The NOCC is also committed to the advancement of ovarian cancer research. Event Contractor Scope of Work
Coordinates the execution of the NOCC New Hampshire Chapter?s Annual Event; Run/Walk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer®. This person will report directly into NOCC Development and Events Department (D&E) and work closely with other departments and volunteers to reach event goals.
Donor Cultivation and Income Management
Manage income goals outlined within the event budget.
Coordinate outreach efforts with previous event participants, teams, and sponsors.
Identify new prospects for teams, sponsors, etc. from corporations, schools, healthcare industry, and community organizations.
In-Kind ?expense relieving? sponsors identified, tracked, to off-set event expenses i.e. food, water, supplies, etc.
Thank you follow-ups conducted with teams and sponsors etc., via phone, e-mail, and letters.
Expense Management and Logistics
Manage expense line items outlined within event budget.
Prepare and review quotes with D&E department for event expenses.
Work with D&E department to coordinate event collateral such as t-shirts, posters, postcards, signage, etc..
Identify vendors to perform logistics for chip timing, tents, event signage, etc.
Provide an inventory of all event collateral/assets prior to and after event.
Volunteer Management
Recruit and train volunteers to assist with day of event logistics.
Recruit and train volunteers to assist with day of registration and money handling.
Coordinate and schedule meetings with volunteer event committee.
Manage scheduling for day of volunteers and delegate tasks accordingly.
Marketing & Communications
Assist in development of on-line calendar for the months leading up to the event. Calendar to include use of chapter webpage, email blasts, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Find survivors who are willing to share their stories, contacting them to get details, and pitching print, TV and radio, as appropriate.
Work with NOCC staff to secure day of event Stage Script.
Add community calendar listings to promote the walk across the region.
Ensure event is listed on popular websites.
Secure and prep the event emcees.
Event Experience/Public Relations
Create special recognition and activities for cancer survivors, caregivers, and loved ones.
Main contact for media, event emcees, and media sponsors.
Handle development of on-site program; communicates with prospective speakers; organizes any logistical details regarding speakers and VIPs, write necessary scripts.
General Duties
Maintain NOCC Chapter e-mail account and answer incoming e-mails.
Maintain NOCC Chapter phone voice mail.
Pick-up mail from the NOCC Chapter P.O. Box, sort, and forward to the national office for further processing.
Perform other duties as needed in order to support the Run/Walk and other chapter activities in local area.

Educational Requirements and Experience:
Bachelor's degree with documented professional experience in fundraising/sales experience required.
Prior event management experience, preferably with non-profit organizations.
Experience working with and leading volunteers.
Income development experience.
Revenue development and relationship cultivation experience.
Ability to create, monitor, and reforecast a budget when necessary.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be highly efficient, well organized, with the ability to manage vast amounts of information and paperwork.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
Must be available to work the week before, day of and 3 days post event.
Full Professional Proficiency in MS Office applications, email, web-based applications and ability to learn and use NOCC databases and other
Full Professional Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google+, and database software is desirable.
