We collaborate with the business to identify areas of risk and operational efficiencies. We aim to strengthen controls, improve risk management and provide solutions to senior management. Our responsibility is to assist the business in meeting its objectives and at the same time ensure that Verizon's controls protect our shareholders, customers and employees.
The Internal Audit team gains extensive exposure to diverse aspects of Verizon's business. These audit assignments include increasing levels of responsibilities and presentations to senior management, making Internal Audit an excellent place to work for high-potential employees.
Job Description:
The senior manager plans, supervises and completes cost effective, comprehensive and complex risk-based audits, within time and expense budgets
A critical role of the senior manager includes people development as the manager oversees career development for staff auditors, including assignments, counseling, training, providing appropriate exposure to the Company's operations and assisting staff auditors with the identification of career opportunities
This position requires a broad understanding of company functions and business units to perform risk assessment and annual plan development, including the identification of control and business risks and control improvements
What we?re looking for...
BS/BA in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
6+years of accounting/audit experience or other related financial experience
Demonstrated effective leadership and interpersonal skills; excel in a team environment
Demonstrated creative and innovative solutions to strategic business issues
Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication
Ability to travel up to 25%
Proficiency in PC skills; technical and software skills a plus; information systems audit experience a plus
Must have a broad knowledge of different businesses to be able to evaluate and assess the significance of problems identified during the course of an audit
Managerial skills including direct supervision and development of subordinates
CPA
Public Accounting experience preferred
