We are seeking?

A qualified Student Accounts Specialist with experience in managing and collecting on A/R registers to own and implement all processes related to student financing, tuition payments, processing refunds and successfully managing A/R reporting across all programs and universities. Your day-to-day will focus on driving improved collection rates for students enrolled in our programs as well as supporting cross-functional teams in processing over-the-phone payments and communicating financial policies to students. This role will be a mix of high-volume AR calls as well as student-facing support and troubleshooting financing issues.

You will work alongside our admissions team to ensure that newly enrolled students understand their financial plan and requirements. You will also work alongside our Student Success Managers and finance team to ensure that students have the best possible support for all tuition-related issues or questions. You will consistently implement all financial policies as it relates to tuition payments and clearly and concisely document any variations.

In this job you will?

Maintain constant contact with student borrowers, ensuring a positive and professional customer service experience
Own a register of several hundred borrower accounts, record accurate and detailed notes, and update account status and borrower information as needed
Place collections calls and negotiate reasonable payment arrangements on defaulted accounts
Process transactions and communicate balance information to students
Track and respond to issues or questions regarding student financing options
Advise students on financing options and provide excellent customer service in adjusting options as necessary
Update student payment plans with new payment methods or accounting memos as necessary
Work with the admissions, student success and central operations departments to support the collection of outstanding tuition payments
What makes you a great fit for this role?

You have a 1-5 years experience in student loan collections or at a university registrar
You have experience exceeding expectations in high-volume call environments
You are an excellent communicator and can write a mean executive summary
Experience with Salesforce and Netsuite is preferred, but not required
