Charge Entry Coding Specialist Job Opening in Lynnwood, Washington - Puget Sound Gastroenterology P.S. has an exciting career opportunity for a Charge Entry Coding Specialist to join our Patient Financial Services (PFS) Team at our Corporate Office in Lynnwood. We are a physician-directed organization providing comprehensive gastrointestinal medical services to patients and referring physicians in the Puget Sound area.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Ability to work independently as well as under the guidance/direction of the PFS Manager and the Coding Lead.
Gathers information and reviews medical records required to correctly code and enters charges into GMed (EMR System)/Centricity (Practice Management System).
Codes claims in accordance with CMS (Medicare), DSHS, other insurance billing regulations and guidelines.
Enters charges into the patient accounting system which includes both data entry and managing automated uploads as well as some patient registration data entry.
Resolve claim edits identified by the system and by knowledge of coding standards
Conducts audit review of records (Diagnosis, CPT, HCPCS, Medical Records) to ensure full compliance as defined by NCD coding guidelines.
Edits Claims in GMed EMR to ensure clean claim and timely submission.
Assigns ICD-10 codes to hospital inpatient charges.
Answer and resolve patient phone inquiries.
Education and Experience:
Minimum 2 years previous medical billing office experience.
Coding Certification (CPC) preferred, however, will accept candidates that are working towards a CPC, or will be within 6 months of hire.
Two or more years? experience with Centricity (Practice Management System) is highly desirable.
Familiarity with medical terminology and billing practices, including ICD-9/10 and CPT codes.
Familiarity with medical insurance coverage information.
Proficient in speaking and writing English.
Skilled typing. 10 ? Key by touch and basic knowledge of Word & Excel preferred.
