Director of Sales Job Opening in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania - Areya Hospitality Management, a well-established and innovative firm focused on acquiring, developing, repositioning, renovating and operating hotels, is now seeking a Director of Sales to take on our Candlewood Suites in Chambersburg, PA.
The Director of Sales is responsible for acquiring and maintaining a solid base of customers while ensuring the hotel is able to enjoy continued success and profitability.
Candidates for this position should enjoy the sales process, including both inside and outside sales. The ideal applicant should be driven, confident and focused on building great relationships with people resulting in strong hotel performance and exceeding hotel goals and property expectations.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for acquiring and maintaining a solid base of customers, attaining a high occupancy and level of profitability.
Manages new and existing accounts to achieve hotel revenue targets, sales quotas, profit and customer satisfaction goals.
Assists in the development of and implementation of strategies to increase hotel awareness and sales opportunities.
Solicits, develops, manages and sells hotel guestrooms, meeting spaces and food and beverage services to maximize the profitability of the hotel and its limited inventory.
Actively seeks high revenue accounts and work to maintain a high level of business.
Provides up-to-date information about promotions, pick up, pace, group, LNRs and top accounts.
Works with the Corporate Director of sales to implement strategic actions concerning the property marketing plan and continues to develop new revenue driven concepts and efforts to further enhance the success of the hotel.
Solicits sales for the property through planned, outside sales calls, telephone solicitations, local trade and professional , travel agents, as well as other local and state organization that could result in potential business for the hotel and sister properties.
Responsible for third party requests, CVB bids and Hotel Planner, Eleads, RFP¹s, NEXUS etc.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS
EDUCATION: High school diploma / GED. 2 year Vocational or 4 year degree preferred but not required. 2 years or more in related field or some combination of experience and education.
EXPERIENCE: Prior sales experience in hospitality or in a related field with proven success.
SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must be able to communicate in English, be self-starting with a personality with an even disposition, have the ability to meet standards of appearance and can communicate well with guests. Ability to operate drive a motor vehicle and follow all traffic laws. Knowledge of the hotel sales process to include lead generation, solicitation, negotiation and closing techniques. Ability to read the English language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, proposals, general correspondence and similar written materials. Advanced English language skills for formulation of proposals, memos and general correspondence.
Ability to effectively communicate with customers and hotel team members.
Interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction.
HOURS: Variable. Primarily week days, however times may vary based upon need. Typically, this position works day hours and including a certain amount of weekends and holidays regularly throughout the year as needed for events, functions, group arrivals, guest service, etc.
