JOB POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

INTERRELATIONSHIPS:
Maintains open communication lines with the Clinical Director, Medical Director, program and facility staff, attending clinicians and physicians, patients and families. Liaison with community agencies, vendors, and payors of health services as assigned by Clinical Director.
POSITION PURPOSE:
The A.R.N.P. provides direct patient care services within the scope of their A.R.N.P. License in collaboration with other members of the facility?s treatment staff; under the direction and supervision of the Medical Director. Supports the policies, rules and regulations of the facility; and acts in compliance with federal, state and other regulatory bodies and agencies. Assists with the overall medical quality management of the facility, providing guidance for treatment staff members as assigned by Clinical Director and or Medical Director.
POSITION
1. EDUCATION:
Graduated from an accredited A.R.N.P., recognized by the State of New Hampshire; and maintains compliance to State of New Hampshire issued continuing education requirements.
2. EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two-year experience in hospital based or outpatient medical practice setting, serving in a A.R.N.P. role.
3. :
Licensed to practice as an A.R.N.P. within the State of New Hampshire.
Current CPR Certification
4. SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the Principles and Practices of the Discipline of Medicine by A.R.N.P.?s.
Adheres to the Association for Ambulatory Behavioral Healthcare Code of Ethics
Knowledge of Infection Control Guidelines.
Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards.
Demonstrates Proficiency in Verbal & Written Communication Skills
Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality
Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace
Knowledge of Workplace Violence Prevention
Knowledge of Corporate Integrity & Compliance

OTHER AREAS
1. SUPERVISION PROVIDED TO POSITION:
Direct supervision is provided by the Medical Director on an individual basis, as determined necessary by the Medical Director.
2. STANDARDS:
Performance standards are integrated within the position responsibilities. The principle functions of the position identified shall not be considered as a complete description of the all the work requirements and expectations that may be inherent in the position.
SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION
1. Provides A.R.N.P. knowledge base as a resource for the design and implementation of clinical activities as designated by patient?s individualized multidisciplinary treatment plan.
2. Performs psychiatric assessments, health and physical examinations, psychiatric consultations, medication management services and other direct services for patients being evaluated for and/or admitted to the facility as assigned.
3. Assure appropriateness of initial patient admissions and continuing patient care through application accepted practices as an A.R.N.P.
4. Provide after hours on-call coverage to coordinate any emergency medical or psychiatric need responses for facility patients as assigned.
5. Participate in interdisciplinary staff meetings on a weekly basis or more frequently as required to coordinate and review the delivery of patient care
6. Provide in-service education for facility employees, as indicated and assigned.
7. Participates in facility performance improvement and utilization review activities.
8. Conducts peer review as assigned.
9. Participate in the formulation and review of facility policy and procedures as assigned.
10. Participate in the formulation of a community resources network to assure a continuum of care for patients upon discharge from the facility as assigned.
11. Work with facility executive and clinical staff on matters of facility development and major policy issues relating to the delivery of patient care as assigned.
12. Assure completion of all A.R.N.P. documentation, to include progress notes, orders, assessments, and discharge summaries; in a professional, legible and timely manner in keeping with A.R.N.P. practice standards.
13. Be available for consultation to patients; their family members; and their significant others at the facility; per established terms of agreement.
14. Complete facility provided A.R.N.P. credentialing applications on forms provided by the facility.
15. Provide on-site A.R.N.P. services at facility, per terms of established agreement.
16. Develops and implements action plans, as needed, to correct problems or issues identified.
17. Complies with required hours in accordance with contract agreement.
18. Collaborates with the Infection Control Nurse/Director of Nursing regarding Infection Control issues and findings.
19. Abides by all safety/risk, infection control, and other guidelines as required.
20. Assists in ensuring State and Federal regulations, and Joint Commission standards are met and maintained.
21. Coordination and delineation of above noted and additional A.R.N.P. services to be managed and supervised through ongoing contact with the facility?s Medical Director, Administrator, Clinical Director, and Director of Nursing.
